President Yadav's fate to be similar to Gyanendra if he doesn't rectify his move: Bhattarai

Finance Minister and senior Maoist leader Baburam Bhattarai has said that the party will ask President Dr Ram Baran Yadav for his resignation if he doesn't rectify his "unconstitutional" move and uphold civilian supremacy by sacking the Army chief.

"If he doesn't correct his move then his (President Yadav) fate will be similar to former king Gyanendra," Bhattarai warned, drawing parallel between President Yadav's move and the February 1 step by former king Gyanendra.

Speaking at a press meet organized by Bheri-Karnali chapter of Revolutionary Journalists' Association in Surkhet on Wednesday, he remarked that Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's video has been publicised to take the attention away from the "unconstitutional" move of President Yadav and also to spread a negative message about the Maoists in the public.

He also claimed that there is less possibility of the new government being formed anytime soon because the Maoists have already intensified their street protest and struggle in the parliament against the President's move
